The 32nd U-Flotilla (32nd Submarine Flotilla ) was a military association of the German Navy in World War II , which existed from August 1944 until the surrender in May 1945. The flotilla was disbanded on May 8, 1945 by order of the Allies , as were all other units of the Kriegsmarine.

history

The 32nd U-Flotilla was founded in August 1944 under the command of Frigate Captain Hermann Rigele as a training flotilla in Königsberg . The flotilla was subordinate to type XXI and XXIII submarines for training. With the advance of the Red Army on East Prussia , the training base was moved to Hamburg in January 1945 . From March 5, 1945, the flotilla was under the command of Corvette Captain Ulrich Heyse.
