Mast shot

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

As mast shots one (usually called the steel existing) preassembled parts of a guyed or free-standing pole or steel lattice tower .

The advantage of using mast sections compared to assembling the mast from individual construction elements on the construction site is that less weather-dependent construction site work has to be done at great heights. For this reason, masts and free-standing steel lattice towers are mostly made from prefabricated sections today. Prefabricated elements can also be better protected against corrosion (by hot-dip galvanizing or applying a coat of paint in a dry room) than during construction site assembly.
