Neukirchen an der Enknach is a municipality in Upper Austria in the judicial district of Braunau am Inn and has 2296 inhabitants. (As of January 1, 2020).
geography
Neukirchen an der Enknach is located at an altitude of 411 m in the Innviertel . The extension is from north to south 10.9 km, from west to east 8.6 km. The total area is 33.2 km². 28% of the area is forested, 66% of the area is used for agriculture. The Enknach flows through the municipality from south to north . Neukirchen an der Enknach is located on federal highway 156, 8 km south of the district capital Braunau am Inn and approx. 45 km north of the city of Salzburg .

Blazon : A black bar in red, which is covered with three silver balls.
The coat of arms, awarded in 1974, goes back to the talking coat of arms of the Apfenthal family, who owned Neukirchen Castle until the 16th century .
The community colors are red-white-black.
history
Six barrows from Roman times were found in Urfanger Holz, two of which were opened.
Since the founding of the Duchy of Bavaria, the place was Bavarian until 1779 and came to Austria after the Treaty of Teschen with the Innviertel (then "Innbaiern"). Briefly Bavarian again during the Napoleonic Wars , since 1814 it has finally belonged to Upper Austria.
