Polling im Innkreis is a municipality with 1004 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2020) in Upper Austria in the Braunau am Inn district in the Innviertel . The responsible judicial district is the judicial district Braunau am Inn .
geography
Polling im Innkreis is located at 385 m in the Innviertel. The extension is 4.9 km from north to south and 6.3 km from west to east. The total area is 15.1 km². 9.9% of the area is forested, 84.8% of the area is used for agriculture.
Waters
The Waldzeller Ache flows through the village from west to east and the Mettmacher Ache runs parallel to it 1 km further south .

Official description of the municipal coat of arms : In green a golden, adjoining St. Andrew's cross, covered with two red, diagonally crossed glaive bars. The community colors are green-yellow-red.
history
Since the founding of the Duchy of Bavaria , the place was Bavarian until 1779 and came to Austria after the Treaty of Teschen with the Innviertel (then 'Innbaiern'). Briefly Bavarian again during the Napoleonic Wars , since 1814 it has finally belonged to Upper Austria. After the connection of Austria to the German Reich on 13 March 1938, the place to "belonged Upper Danube ". After 1945 the restoration of Upper Austria took place.
The medieval Imolkam Castle was demolished in the 1830s.

Mayor is Bernhard Reiter-Stranzinger from the ÖVP .
Vice Mayor is Gerhard Rottinger from the SPÖ.
Population development
In 1991 the municipality had 905 inhabitants according to the census, in 2001 it had 919 inhabitants.
Culture and sights
- The Catholic parish church of Polling in the Innkreis was built around 1485 in late Gothic style and later changed to Baroque style and has neo-Gothic altars. The baroque band and lattice stucco was created by Johann Michael Vierthaler (around 1730). On the outer wall there is a fresco The Good and Bad Prayer and a stone relief of Christ on the Mount of Olives .
