history

A church was mentioned in a document in 903.

architecture

The Gothic ashlar building is made of tuff stone . A slightly drawn -in two-bay choir with a three - eighth end connects to the single - nave three-bay nave . In the nave and choir , the ribs of the Gothic vaults were removed and were given baroque stucco as band and lattice work by Johann Michael Vierthaler (around 1730). The frescoes were painted in 1834 by the painter Martin Kessler from Aurolzmünster; these were painted over in 1864 and restored in 1926. Inside the church there are pillars with Ionic pilasters on the walls . The three-axis west gallery stands on a needle cap barrel. The stepped Gothic west tower with an eight-sided bell house has a pointed helmet. The Gothic ogival south portal has a vestibule with a ribbed vault. Outside the choir is a Gothic fresco, which was heavily restored in 1948. Next to it is a stone relief of Christ on the Mount of Olives . The fresco and stone relief were donated by Hans Taller in 1500. The fresco Christophorus on the outside of the sacristy has already been badly damaged.

The cemetery wall, which is also listed, is made of tuff stone.

Furnishing

The decor is neo-Gothic . The high altar bears an overpainted picture of St. Andreas in the manner of Tobias Schinagl (around 1670). There are the figures of the crucified and the Man of Sorrows in the manner of Johann Franz Schwanthaler (around 1730). The organ with one manual and ten registers was built in 1877 by Franz Sales Ehrlich from Braunau am Inn .
