The wavy strip in the municipal coat of arms awarded in 1990 stands for the Salzach , on the right bank of which Überackern lies. The golden place comes from the coat of arms of the Überackerer who had their headquarters here. The key as an attribute of St. Peter refers to the parish patron. The green shield color emphasizes the high proportion of forest in the municipality, which is the highest in the district with 78% of the municipal area.

history

Überackern and its parish church were mentioned in a document from the period between 748 and 788. Since the founding of the Duchy of Bavaria , the place was Bavarian until 1779 and came to Austria after the Treaty of Teschen with the Innviertel (then Innbaiern). Briefly Bavarian again during the Napoleonic Wars , since 1814 it has finally belonged to Upper Austria. After the annexation of Austria to the German Reich on March 13, 1938, the place belonged to the Gau Oberdonau . After 1945 the restoration of Upper Austria took place.
