history

A church was mentioned in documents between 748 and 788. The Gothic church building from 1480 to 1486 was attributed to Ulrich Ziernstainer from Burghausen. In 1952 the church was restored and the frescoes were exposed.

architecture

The single-nave three-bay nave and the two-bay choir of the same width with a three-eighth end have ribbed vaults. The choir has struts. The windows were given a baroque finish. In the choir vault there are late Gothic medallions with frescoes with evangelist symbols from around 1480/1490. The late Gothic decorative vegetal vault painting in the nave and choir was later heavily renewed. There are baroque frescoes over two windows in the choir. The late Gothic west gallery made of wood is from the beginning of the 16th century. The west tower with an eight-sided bell house has a pointed helmet from 1867/1872. The late Gothic south portal has a vestibule and a late Gothic draw ring. The sacristy door has a late Gothic key fitting. Next to the sacrament house is a foundation inscription with 1486.

Furnishing

The high altar was officially built in 1658 by the carpenter Bartlmä Miller and shows a painting by Andreas Nowack (1848) from Prague. The left side altar from the middle of the 17th century and the pulpit from the second half of the 17th century were transferred from the Capuchin Church in Burghausen and erected in 1785. Under the organ loft is a rococo-style painting with Mary and saints and the donor family around 1770/1780. The single manual organ with seven sounding stops was built in 1928 by Ludwig Mayrhofer from Linz-Urfahr.
