District Court Braunau am Inn

The judicial district Braunau am Inn is a judicial district subordinate to the district court Braunau am Inn in the political district Braunau am Inn (federal state Upper Austria ). The judicial district is, along with the judicial district Mattighofen, one of two judicial districts in the political district of Braunau am Inn.

history

The judicial district goes back to the "Land and Care Court Braunau", which was originally under the Duchy of Bavaria . The court in Braunau included the Oberweilhart district court, the Braunau nursing court, the Mauerkirchen district court, the Uttendorf nursing court, the Burghausen forestry court and the Wildshut nursing court.

In the course of the War of the Bavarian Succession , Bavaria had to cede the Innviertel to Austria through the Treaty of Teschen in 1779 . The area subsequently became part of Austria ob der Enns .

Originally only the municipalities of Braunau am Inn , Gilgenberg am Weilhart , Handenberg , Mining , Neukirchen an der Enknach , St. Georgen am Fillmannsbach , St. Peter am Hart , Schwand im Innkreis and Überackern were subordinate to the district court .

With the District Court Ordinance of the Austrian Federal Government on November 12, 2002, however, the dissolution of the judicial district of Mauerkirchen and the assignment of the area to the judicial district of Braunau am Inn were resolved. The ordinance came into force on January 1, 2005. Since 2005, the judicial district of Braunau am Inn has therefore also included the communities Altheim , Aspach , Burgkirchen , Helpfau-Uttendorf , Höhnhart , Mauerkirchen , Moosbach , Polling im Innkreis , Roßbach , St. Veit im Innkreis , Treubach and Weng im Innkreis .
