The judicial district Leonfelden was the District Court Leonfelden under standing judicial district in the political district Urfahr environment (federal state Upper Austria ). Along with the Urfahr-Umgebung judicial district, Leonfelden was one of two judicial districts in the Urfahr-Umgebung political district. As of January 1, 2013, the area was divided into the judicial districts of Freistadt and Rohrbach .

history

The judicial district of Leonfelden was created together with 46 other judicial districts in Upper Austria by a decree of the kk Oberlandesgericht Linz on July 4, 1850 and originally included the 21 tax communities of Amesschlag , Bernhardsschlag , Dietrichschlag , Haybach , Innerschlag , Königschlag , Laimbach , Leonfelden , Lichtenstein , Oberneukirchen , Ottenschlag , Reichenau , Reichenthal , Schenkenfelden , Foundation (Parish Leonfelden) , Foundation (Parish Reichenthal) , Waldschlag , Waxenberg , Weigertschlag , Weißenbach and Zwettl .

In the course of the separation of the political from the judicial administration from 1868, the judicial district together with the judicial districts of Freistadt and Unterweissenbach formed the district of Freistadt .

In 1903 the judicial district of Leonfelden was separated from the Freistadt district and assigned to the newly formed Urfahr district, with the district authority taking up its work on October 1, 1903. Together with the judicial districts of Ottensheim and Urfahr, Leonfelden subsequently formed the Urfahr district, whereby the city of Urfahr was incorporated into Linz in 1919 and the district was renamed Urfahr-Umgebung.

According to the President of the Higher Regional Court, Johannes Payrhuber , the discussion that began in the context of the administrative reform and budget savings in 2011/12 on the closure of district courts and the dissolution of district courts also affected the Leonfelden district court, which did not have a full-time judge's position. As a result, the judicial district of Leonfelden was dissolved on January 1, 2013 and the municipalities were assigned to the judicial districts of Freistadt and Rohrbach . The municipalities of Bad Leonfelden , Haibach in the Mühlkreis , Ottenschlag in the Mühlkreis , Reichenau in the Mühlkreis , Reichenthal , Schenkenfelden and Zwettl an der Rodl were assigned to the judicial district of Freistadt, and the municipalities of Oberneukirchen and Vorderweißbach to the Rohrbach judicial district .
