history

Population development

The judicial district belonged to the Diocese of Passau until 1782 , with a Bavarian tithe office in the market in Obernberg am Inn . In the course of the War of the Bavarian Succession , the Innviertel was awarded to Austria by the Treaty of Teschen in 1779, and Obernberg was thus part of Austria ob der Enns . The judicial district of Obernberg included the communities Antiesenhofen , Geinberg , Gurten , Kirchdorf am Inn , Lambrechte , Mörschwang , Mühlheim am Inn , Obernberg am Inn, Ort im Innkreis , Reichersberg , Sankt Georgen bei Obernberg am Inn , St. Martin im Innkreis , Senftenbach , Utzenaich and Weilbach . The municipality of Katzenberg was originally part of the judicial district, but this was merged with Kirchdorf am Inn. The Maasbach cadastral community came to the Schärding judicial district in 1938 . On January 1, 2005, the Obernberg am Inn district court was closed and the communities were subordinated to the Ried im Innkreis district court.
