history

Bad Ischl judicial district

The judicial district Ischl was created together with 46 other judicial districts in Upper Austria by a decree of the kk Oberlandesgericht Linz on July 4, 1850 and originally comprised the 23 tax communities Ahorn , Ebensee , Goisern , Gosau , Haiden , Hallstadt , Ischl , Jainzen , Kaltenbach , Langwies , Lasern , Lauffen , Lindau , Oberlangbach , Obersee , Obertraun , Pernek , Ramsau , Reiterndorf , Rettenbach , Untersee , Sankt Wolfgang and Wolfgangthal .

In the course of the separation of the political from the judicial administration from 1868, the judicial district together with the judicial district of Gmunden formed the district of Gmunden .

Through the amalgamation of parishes, the number of parishes was gradually reduced to seven parishes.

After the invasion of the US troops on May 5, 1945, jurisdiction was transferred to a military government court installed in Gmunden. With the ruling of the presidium of the Linz Higher Regional Court on December 7, 1945 the court was officially resumed. The Bad Aussee District Court (until July 1, 1948) and the Mondsee District Court (until July 12, 1947) were temporarily assigned to the Bad Ischl District Court until the local district courts were able to resume their work.

The reopening ceremony took place in Bad Ischl on December 26, 1945 in the presence of the head of the US judiciary, the presidents of the Higher Regional Court and several state and local politicians.

The Bad Ischl District Court was created as a labor court through the amendment to the Labor Court Act in 1950 . The district of the Bad Ischl labor court comprised the three district court districts of Bad Ischl, Gmunden and Mondsee. The labor courts (1st instance) conducted their negotiations as a mixed lay court, with one district judge and two lay judges.

On December 31, 1986, the labor courts were dissolved and replaced by the social justice system (at the regional courts). A branch of the Wels Labor and Social Court remained in Bad Ischl until the end of 2012.

In 2012 there was a discussion about the creation of a district court for the Salzkammergut . A district from the municipalities of the Inner Salzkammergut (Upper Austria), the Ausseerland (Styria) and some municipalities on Lake Wolfgang (Salzburg) was sketched . An implementation of this court block, which extends over three federal states, was not pursued any further.
