history

The judicial district Unterweißbach was created together with 46 other judicial districts in Upper Austria by a decree of the kk Oberlandesgericht Linz on July 4, 1850 and originally comprised the 22 tax communities Haid , Harrachsthal , Herzogsreith , Hofstätten , Kaining , Königswiesen , Landshut , Liebenau , Maasch , Markersdorf , Mönchdorf , Mötlas , Neustift im Mühlkreis , Paroxed , Pierbach , Prandegg , St. Leonhard , Schönau , Silberberg , Waidersfelden , Weissenbach and Windhagmühl . The judicial district housed a total of 2,175 houses in 1869, in which 13,430 people lived. By amalgamating the municipalities, the number of municipalities was reduced to the eight municipalities of Kaltenberg , Königswiesen, Liebenau , Pierbach, St. Leonhard bei Freistadt , Schönau im Mühlkreis , Unterweißbach and Weitersfelden by the beginning of the 21st century . With the District Court Ordinance of the Austrian Federal Government on November 12, 2002, the resolution of the judicial district Unterweißbach was resolved and the allocation of the area to the judicial districts Freistadt and Pregarten determined. The ordinance came into force on January 1, 2003. The communities of Königswiesen, Pierbach and Schönau in the Mühlkreis subsequently fell to the judicial district of Pregarten, the communities Kaltenberg , Liebenau , St. Leonhard bei Freistadt, Unterweißbach and Weitersfelden to the judicial district of Freistadt.
