The judicial district of Gmunden is the District Court Gmunden under standing judicial district in the political district of Gmunden (federal state Upper Austria ).

history

The judicial district of Gmunden was created together with 46 other judicial districts in Upper Austria by a decree of the kk Oberlandesgericht Linz on July 4, 1850 and originally included the 57 tax communities Adelhaming , Altmünster , Diethaming , Dorf , Eben , Ebenzweyer , Edt , Eggenberg , Ehrendorf , Ehrenfeld , Einsiedling , Feichtenberg , Feldham , Gmunden , Gmundnerberg , Grasberg , Grünau , Gschwandt , Hafendorf , Hörbach , Kaltenmarkt , Kampesberg , Kirchham , Kogl , Kranabeth , Krottendorf , Kufhaus , Lahkirchen , Lederau , Messenbach , Moos , Moosham , Mühlbach , Mühlbachberg , Mühldorf , Mühltal , Nach dem See , Nathal , Neukirchen , Oberndorf , Oberweis , Oelling , Ohlsdorf , Orth , Pinsdorf , Reindlmühl , Riedham , Schlagen , Schweigthal , Stötten , Teuerwand , Traundorf , Traunkirchen , Traunstein , Vichtwang , Vorchdorf and Winkl . In the course of the separation of the political from the judicial administration from 1868, the judicial district together with the judicial district of Ischl formed the district of Gmunden .

By amalgamating parishes, the number of parishes was gradually reduced to just 13 parishes.

After the Second World War, the presidium of the Linz Higher Regional Court officially resumed court operations on December 7, 1945. The reopening took place during a ceremony in Gmunden on December 14, 1945. In matters of labor law, the district court districts of Gmunden, Mondsee and Bad Ischl were assigned to the labor court at the district court of Bad Ischl from 1950 to 1986.
