The judicial district of Vöcklabruck was created by a decree of the kk Oberlandesgericht Linz on July 4, 1850 and originally comprised the 30 tax communities Ackersberg , Ampflwang , Aurach , Baumgarting , Bierbaum , Gampern , Hainbach , Kammer , Litzlberg , Neudorf , Neukirchen , Oberkrich , Pichlwang , Oberpilsbach , Puchheim , Rametsberg , Unterregau , Rutzenmoos , Seewalchen , Steinbach , Timelkam , Trattberg , Ungenach , Vöcklabruck , Wagrain , Wartenburg , Wegleiten , Weyregg , Zell am Pettenfürst .

In the course of the separation of the political from the judicial administration from 1868, the judicial district together with the judicial districts Mondsee , Frankenmarkt and Schwanenstadt formed the district of Vöcklabruck .

Through the amalgamation of municipalities, the number of municipalities was gradually reduced to 17 Ampflwang in Hausruckwald , Attnang-Puchheim , Aurach am Hongar , Gampern , Lenzing , Neukirchen an der Vöckla , Pilsbach , Puchkirchen am Trattberg , Regau , Schörfling am Attersee , Seewalchen am Attersee , Steinbach am Attersee , Timelkam , Ungenach , Vöcklabruck , Weyregg am Attersee and Zell am Pettenfirst .

As a result of the dissolution of the Schwanenstadt judicial district, the judicial district became the 14 communities of Atzbach , Desselbrunn , Manning , Niederthalheim , Oberndorf bei Schwanenstadt , Ottnang am Hausruck , Pitzenberg , Pühret , Redlham , Rüstorf , Rutzenham , Schlatt , Schwanenstadt and Wolfsegg am on January 1, 2005 Hausruck expanded. On July 1, 2013, the judicial districts of Mondsee and Frankenmarkt were dissolved and the communities were assigned to the judicial district of Vöcklabruck.
