In 1500 the place was called "Timelkham". Emperor Maximilian I made Timelkam a market in 1512 with a fair on September 29th. In 1609 the market tower was built . From 1615 annual and weekly markets were held, a market order was created. In 1710 Emperor Josef I approved a bridge toll for the construction of the bridge over the Dürre Ager and bank protection structures on the Vöckla .

On October 19, 1875, the AMSTETTEN locomotive derailed on the Austrian Western Railway at Timelkam station after a tire broke . The cause was the then still unknown material fatigue and not a material defect.

coat of arms

Coat of arms at timelkam.png

Blazon : In red on a green shield base a golden camel with a rider also dressed in gold, who holds the red reins in his left hand and a shiny, silver scimitar in his right. A golden bridge sloping left over a blue brook; In the background, on a green, flat three-mountain, a silver, black-open tower covered with an onion-shaped dome and with an annex on the right.
The community colors are red-yellow-green.

It is not known when the coat of arms was awarded. The first evidence is a seal from 1647. The coat of arms shows the characteristic market tower with the bridge over the Dürre Ager. The camel probably comes from the coat of arms of the Seeauer noble family , who had a close connection with the Wartenburg rulership. The meaning of the rider with the scimitar is unknown.
