Timelkam market tower
The market tower in Timelkam stands at the west end of the center of the market in Timelkam in the Vöcklabruck district in Upper Austria .
The five-storey tower with a square floor plan is 23 m high. It has a tent roof with a turret and a lantern. On the west and east sides there are frescoed clock faces of a tower clock and frescoes of the market coat of arms. In 1608/09 the tower was built by the Vöcklabruck master mason Christoph Kronberger as a meeting place for the judge and the council of Timelkam. The prison was also located here. The building was paid for by the citizens with a grant from the owner of the Wartenburg , Friedrich von Polheim.
From 1706 to 1919 the tower was used as a toll tower. This is where the Mautner lived and worked .
In 1930, the small semicircular extension on the north side was demolished to widen the through-road. The tower is well preserved due to its continuous use. The last restoration took place in 1976.
