coat of arms
Official description of the Frankenmarkt municipal coat of arms: “Divided by a lowered, silver bar; above three silver heraldic lilies set 1: 2 in blue; green below. ”From a medieval mythological point of view, the lilies were also assigned to the Franks as a coat of arms. In the 11th century the place was opened up by the Bamberg bishops through Frankish settlers, hence the lilies. The silver ribbon symbolizes the Vöckla. The coat of arms was awarded in 1976.
