"Attergau observation tower" on the Lichtenberg
  • The Attergau observation tower, built in 2003, stands above the Lichtenberg district.
The square tower has eight platforms, the top of which is 32 m high and can be reached via 208 steps. The construction of the tower is made of wood, braced on the outside with steel cables and secured with galvanized grids. The panorama to the west and south is alpine, to the north and east gently rolling hills. The parapet of the uppermost platform is covered on each side with a panoramic photo a few meters long, on which all peaks are clearly legible with sea level as well as place and lake names. The view is one of the most impressive in the foothills of the Alps.
There is no entry fee, but you have to go through a turnstile so that the maximum number of visitors of 120 people is not exceeded.
The tower stands between two transmission masts - all three towers are architecturally undemanding.
