The judicial district Pregarten (formerly also judicial district Prägarten ) was a judicial district subordinate to the district court Pregarten in the political district of Freistadt (federal state Upper Austria ). Since the dissolution of the Unterweißbach judicial district , the Pregarten judicial district has been one of two judicial districts in the Freistadt political district alongside the Freistadt judicial district. On January 1, 2014, the area was divided between the Freistadt judicial district and the Perg judicial district.
history
The judicial district Pregarten was created together with 46 other judicial districts in Upper Austria by a decree of the kk Oberlandesgericht Linz on July 4, 1850 and originally comprised the 17 tax communities Aich , Brawinkl , Erdmannsdorf , Gutau , Hagenberg , Hinterberg , Hundsdorf , Lanzendorf , Mistlberg , Pregartdorf , Pregarten , Selker , Tragwein , Wartberg , Untergaisbach , Unterweitersdorf and Zell . The judicial district originally belonged to the district of Perg and in 1869 housed a total of 1782 houses in which 11,034 people lived. In 1903 the judicial district of Pregarten was added to the district of Freistadt.
By the amalgamation of municipalities, the number of municipalities was reduced to the seven municipalities of Bad Zell , Gutau , Hagenberg im Mühlkreis , Pregarten , Tragwein , Unterweitersdorf and Wartberg ob der Aist by the beginning of the 21st century . With the District Court Ordinance of the Austrian Federal Government on November 12, 2002, however, the resolution of the judicial district Unterweißbach was resolved and the allocation of the area to the judicial districts Freistadt and Pregarten determined. The ordinance came into force on January 1, 2003, expanding the judicial district of Pregarten to include the communities of Königswiesen , Pierbach and Schönau im Mühlkreis .
The discussion about the closure of district courts, which began in the context of the administrative reform and budget savings in 2011/12, led to the decision to close the district court in Pregarten, as there were only 1.2 permanent judges' posts. The liquidation of the judicial district of Pregarten was finally decreed in June 2012 and became officially effective on January 1, 2014. On the basis of the ordinance, the five municipalities Gutau , Hagenberg im Mühlkreis , Pregarten , Unterweitersdorf and Wartberg ob der Aist were added to the judicial district of Freistadt and Bad Zell , Königswiesen , Pierbach , Schönau im Mühlkreis and Tragwein to the judicial district of Perg.
