The Urfahr judicial district is subordinate to the Urfahr District Court in the political districts of Urfahr-Umgebung and Linz (federal state of Upper Austria ).

history

The judicial district Urfahr was created on July 4, 1850 together with 46 other judicial districts in Upper Austria by a decree of the kk Oberlandesgericht Linz. He originally included the 23 control communities Altenberg , Engerwitzdorf , Gallneukirchen , Hellmonsödt , Holzwiesen , Katzbach , Katzgraben , Kirchschlag , Kleedorf , Lach city , Lichtenberg , Niederkulm , Oberbayring , Oberdorf , Pelmberg , Pöstlingberg , Pröselsdorf , Pulgarn , Ridl , Sonnberg , Steinbach , Steyregg and Urfahr .

At first the judicial district was named “Linz III. Section ”, but in 1850 the name was changed to“ Urfahr bei Linz ”.

The judicial district formed political from judicial administration from 1868 together with the jurisdictions during the separation Linz , Ottensheim , Enns and St. Florian the District Linz .

In 1903 the Urfahr judicial district was separated from the Linz district and, together with the Ottensheim judicial district and the Leonfelden judicial district, which had been separated from the Freistadt district, were assigned to the newly formed Urfahr district, with the district administration taking up work on October 1, 1903.

Despite the incorporation of Urfahr and Pöstlingberg into Linz in 1915 and St. Magdalena in 1938, the new Linz districts remained part of the Urfahr judicial district. After the National Socialists came to power, the Urfahr-Umgebung district was dissolved and the Urfahr judicial district joined the newly formed Linz administrative district (later Linz district).

The Urfahr judicial district was dissolved after the Second World War in 1958, as were the Ottensheim and Sankt Florian judicial districts. The Urfahr-Umgebung judicial district subsequently replaced the Urfahr judicial district. The municipalities of today's court district were assigned to this by ordinance in 1958. Since then, the court district has encompassed the area of the former Urfahr judicial districts (excluding the Urfahr and St. Magdalena districts north of the Danube, which are incorporated into Linz ).

In 1960, the Urfahr-Umgebung district was re-established from the Urfahr-Umgebung judicial district and the Leonfelden judicial district.

In 2013 the judicial district was renamed "Urfahr" again and the Linz districts north of the Danube (Urfahr, Pöstlingberg and St. Magdalena) were assigned to the judicial district.
