history

Until the church is planted

The first written mention of Aeringa comes from the year 725. In a donation to the Stephanskirche in Passau , three properties were given to this church by a certain Uttinhus. ( Monumenta Boica XXVIII, 2.55), HAB p.34.

In the year 1009 King Heinrich II. (The saint) gave the rule Ering with everything that belonged to the Bamberg monastery . The Bamberg bishops were in charge for almost 300 years.

In 1174, Duke Heinrich the Lion held the Ering Landtag . This was a big festival with drinking parties and similar events. It can be assumed that this is where the Eringer Kirta originated.

In 1296, Bishop Arnold had to pledge the property of Ering to the Counts of Hals . Erneck Castle also belonged to the von Hals. Enemies of the Halser stormed Erneck Castle in 1330 and burned it down. It was rebuilt and stood on the hills north of Ering until 1504.

In the August days of 1504, in addition to Erneck, Julbach and Stubenberg also went up in flames and burned down completely. So the rule of Ering-Erneck, which had been in the possession of the Bavarian dukes of Bavaria-Landshut since 1377 , came to an end.

The Wittelsbach nursing court Ering with Frauenstein and Hofmark Mining was sold in 1508 by Duke Albrecht IV of Bavaria to the Paumgartner brothers for their services in the Landshut War of Succession on the Monday after St. Dorotheen-Tag for 13,500 guilders (except for the sovereign authorities and the tribunal ). The rulership comprised Frauenstein Castle (which has now broken several times), the Erneck rulership including the castle stables (which was in ruins), farm buildings, taverns, forges, baths, mills, the villages of Mining , Ering, Graben, Malching , Münchham , Kühstein, Griesser and others . a. Marriages. A list of all possessions, income and rights is recorded in the land register of Ering Castle.

The Paumgartner (Baumgartner) also acquired the lordship of Ering in 1523. They acquired, as the deed of purchase says, "the brick seat, located by the parish church on the cemetery wall". The former rulers were the Rosenstingls and the Knights Gogkendorfer. The Gogkendorfer had died out in the male line , and the only daughter sold the inheritance because she was ailing herself.

Ering belonged to the Burghausen Rent Office and the Mörmoosen Regional Court of the Electorate of Bavaria . In the course of the administrative reforms in Bavaria , today's municipality was created with the municipal edict of 1818 .

coat of arms

Blazon : A golden lion growing in blue over a golden corrugated shield base from a braided golden fence.

The base of the wave shield, a river symbol, represents the location of the municipality on the Inn. The lion growing out of the wattle fence comes from the coat of arms of the Counts of Paumgarten , who from 1508 can be traced for centuries as the owner of the Ering lordship, a closed Hofmark with an extensive manorial estate. The Counts of Paumgarten were important as owners of the Ering Patrimonial Court until the middle of the 19th century.
