Münchham is a district and a district of the municipality Ering in the Lower Bavarian district of Rottal-Inn .

location

Münchham is located about three and a half kilometers northwest of Ering in the Kirntal at an altitude of 387 meters.

history

At the time of the Duchy and Electorate of Bavaria, Münchham was a chairman in the Ering-Frauenstein lordship of the Counts of Paumgarten . The old parish was incorporated into Asbach Monastery in 1383 and has been independent again since 1806 after its dissolution. The municipality Münchham was the second Gemeindeedikt created by 1818th

The Münchham School was originally housed in a wooden sacristan's house in the center of the village. In 1865/66 a new two-story building was built, which also served as a school and sacristan's house. A new schoolhouse was inaugurated on September 12, 1904, but the Münchham school site was soon closed.

On January 1, 1971, the Münchham community came to Ering as part of the regional reform in Bavaria .

Attractions

  • The late Gothic parish church of St. Mauritius was built in 1491 by Hans Wechselperger. It has a rococo interior with a high altar around 1740 and side altars around 1750. The pulpit is from the late Renaissance period and was built in the first half of the 16th century.
  • The former rectory was built in 1804 and is now used as a youth conference center.
  • The spring knot flower thrives wildly in the orchards around Münchham . A part of the stock belongs to the natural monument "Schneeglöckerlau".
  • Scenes from the famous feature film Herbstmilch were filmed in the historic "Staffewirt" tavern .
