Reut is a municipality in the Lower Bavarian district of Rottal-Inn and a member of the Tann administrative community .
geography
Geographical location
Reut is located in the Landshut region in the midst of the typically Lower Bavarian hilly landscape about 9 km north of Simbach or 10 km from Braunau , 15 km south of the district town of Pfarrkirchen , 20 km south-east of Eggenfelden and 25 km north-east of Burghausen . The nearest train stations on the Mühldorf – Simbach am Inn railway line are Simbach (10 km away) and Julbach (13 km away).

history
Until the church is planted
Reut belonged to the Burghausen Rent Office and the Julbach Regional Court of the Electorate of Bavaria. In the course of the administrative reforms in Bavaria , the municipality of Reut was created with the municipal edict of 1818 .
20th century
On January 1, 1904, the municipality of Reut was reorganized by hiving off the municipality of Eggstetten. Today's community is the result of the merger of the small communities Taubenbach, Reut and Randling as part of the regional reform in Bavaria , which came into force on April 1, 1971. At the same time an administrative community was formed with the municipality of Tann . The largest towns in the rural community are Taubenbach, Reut and Noppling. The municipality of Reut has 1698 inhabitants and an area of 30.75 km².
On January 1, 1980, an area with a little less than 100 inhabitants was reclassified to Markt Tann .
Population development
Between 1988 and 2018 the municipality grew from 1,601 to 1,696 by 95 inhabitants or 5.9%.

Economy and Infrastructure
Economy including agriculture and forestry
In 1998, according to official statistics, there were no employees subject to social insurance contributions in the manufacturing industry and in the trade and transport sector. In other economic sectors, 15 people were employed at the place of work subject to social security contributions. There were a total of 513 employees at the place of residence subject to social security contributions. There were four companies in the manufacturing sector and five in the construction sector. In addition, in 1999 there were 133 farms with an agriculturally used area of 1849 ha, of which 1190 ha were arable land and 659 ha were permanent green space.
education
There are the following facilities:
- Kindergartens: 50 kindergarten places with 46 children (built in 1993)
- Elementary schools: one with four teachers and 83 students
Culture and sights
The late Gothic parish church of St. Stephen was expanded in 1895. It has a baroque interior.
The pilgrimage church of St. Alban in Taubenbach and the rectory form a late Gothic ensemble. The Zürn brothers designed the high altar of the church. There are hiking trails in the area around Taubenbach.
