history
Until the church is planted
The place Malgersdorf was first mentioned in 1135 . Its ownership changed several times among different noble families. The first owner and at the same time namesake of Hofmark Malgersdorf was "Mengenhardus Madegeresdorf". After that, the Vislers resided for a long time, from whose coat of arms the left half of the municipal coat of arms comes: the double golden crown with the grain sheaf. At the beginning of the 17th century the Leoprechtingers owned the Hofmark , since the end of the Thirty Years' War the von Trauner-Neudegg family and since 1736 the Tattenbacher owned the Hofmark . From these, the Counts of Arco-Valley took over the properties in 1825 . When the Hofmark rights were dissolved in Bavaria in 1848, the municipality of Malgersdorf came into being.
20th century
Malgersdorf suffered from the turmoil of the Thirty Years' War up to the Second World War, often from unrest and armed conflicts. At the end of the Second World War, remaining units of the German Wehrmacht wanted to stop the advance of the US Army. As a result, on May 1, 1945, there was a violent exchange of fire with the use of heavy weapons, which had a corresponding impact on the place and the population.
Incorporations
Until the Bavarian territorial reform , Malgersdorf belonged to the Eggenfelden district, which was dissolved in 1972 . On January 1, 1975, the following districts of the Arnstorf market were incorporated: Blumreising, Engersöd, Galleck, Hilbing, Irlach, Lalling, Rackersöd, Straß and Willersöd.
In 1978 Malgersdorf was incorporated into the Falkenberg administrative community .

coat of arms
Blazon: split between red and silver; in front a golden crown, from which a golden grain of corn grows, which is held together under the ears by a golden crown; behind a silver, scaled red sloping bar.
Coat of arms history : The municipal coat of arms is a union of two family coats of arms. These coats of arms belonged to two families who were particularly important for the community throughout history. The grain sheaf held together by two crowns stands for the coat of arms of the Visler zu Malgersdorf, owners of the Hofmark Malgersdorf from 1464 to 1634, their tombstones can be seen in the parish church of Malgersdorf. In contrast, the scaled sloping beam is based on the coat of arms of the von Tattenbach (noble family) , also Tettenbach, before 1280 Tattenbeck, later Reinstein-Tattenbach. They were the owners of the castle in Malgersdorf from 1736 to 1876. According to Scheibler's book of arms, your family coat of arms shows a shield in silver with a slanted, scaled red bar; as a jewel an armless mermaid (Melusine) with a red hat. The beam was adopted for the city arms.
