history
Until the church is planted
The place was probably on an old Roman road that ran from Massing to the mouth of the Rott . Around 1150, with the witness Eckolf de Possenmunstiure, a family named after Postmünster is mentioned for the first time. The name is probably based on a poso who founded his own monastery here in the 8th century . After that, these nobles are often mentioned by Postmünster, who were ministerials of the Passau bishopric .
In the second half of the 13th century, the Siegenheim owners of the Hofmark Postmünster-Thurnstein. In the third Bavarian Duke's Surbar, Postmünster is listed as the Wittelsbach Hofmark . In 1482, the Postmünster chairmanship was part of the Pfarrkirchen office. In 1508 Postmünster came to the Paulsdorffe by marriage. At the end of the 16th century the property was divided. In 1599 half belonged to the underage Christoph von Paulsdorff, the other half to Leo von Sinzenhofen, who lived in the Palatinate.
In the Electorate of Bavaria , Postmünster formed a closed Hofmark in the Reichenberg nursing court . The Hofmark was withdrawn on the order of the electoral regiment and apparently sold in full to Paul Scheibel in 1638. After 1648 the Strobel family bought Postmünster-Thurnstein. In 1661 Hans Georg Strobel sold it to Johann Imsland zu Hofstetten. The Imsland had the Thurnstein Castle expanded, but too little income meant that the Hofmark had to be auctioned after 1730. Michael Plinganser was a bankruptcy administrator for around 14 years. It was not until 1750 that the Counts of Goder acquired the Hofmark for 58,000 guilders.
The last Graf zu Goder died in 1789. After lengthy inheritance disputes, the property came back to the Gant in 1818 . The buyer, Baroness von Venningen, sold the goods to Ludwig Graf von Geldern-Egmont in 1836 for 58,000 guilders.
In the course of the administrative reforms in Bavaria , today's municipality was created with the municipal edict of 1818 .
