Lisa Wahlandt

Lisa Wahlandt (born October 6, 1966 in Postmünster ) is a German jazz and pop singer.

Live and act

Wahlandt, who initially worked as a secretary, was initially active in the guitar-singing duo Joni and Lisa . From 1992 to 1996 she studied jazz singing at the Bruckner Conservatory in Linz, where she received a scholarship to the Manhattan School of Music in New York in 1994 . In 1996 she released her debut album Live with the group Mind Games and guest trumpeter Claudio Roditi ; With the follow-up album Mind Games Plays the Music of Stan Getz and Astrud Gilberto , the group reached number 1 on the jazz charts in Singapore.

In 2000 Wahlandt released the album Gute Nacht Lieder with Martin Kälberer . Other records followed, including a tribute album to Marlene Dietrich with Marlene in 2003 and two recordings with the trio ELF . She can also be heard on Roberto di Gioia's album Strange World . In 2010 Wahlandt released her album Stay a While , on which she sings a cover version of the Prince song Kiss .

Prizes and awards

Wahlandt received the Newcomer Prize of the Süddeutsche Zeitung and Bayerischer Rundfunk in 2002 for the CD Bossa Nova Affair with Mulo Francel . In 2006, together with Gerwin Eisenhauer and Bernd Meyer , she was awarded the Goethe Institute Prize for the setting Gesang der Geister über den Wasser .
