Gerwin "Geff" Eisenhauer (* 1967 in Weiden in the Upper Palatinate ) is a German jazz musician ( drums ).

Live and act

Eisenhauer attended the Augustinus-Gymnasium Weiden from 1979 to 1986 and then the Erasmus-Gymnasium Amberg until 1989 . During the entire high school he took private drum lessons with Ulli Knod (* 1958), Nic France and Werner Schmitt from Mainz. From 1990 to 1993 he studied at the New York Drummers Collective with Dave Weckl , Kim Plainfield , Duduka da Fonseca , Mike Clerk and others. He lives in Regensburg .

With Agnes Lazar and Mario Suetel he released the album Consumotionality in 2003 in the Regensburg formation Lazar . Since 2005 he has been playing with the pianist Walter Lang and the double bass player Sven Faller as the Trio ELF , which has released several recordings. He works with Lang and Uli Zenner Wolkenstein on bass under the band name Gerwin Eisenhauer's Booom . His book Welcome to the Jungle - Drum'n'Bass-Workbook For Drummers , published in 2005, was named "Book of the Month" by Sticks magazine . At the Regensburg Theater he is the musical director for the play The Summer Night Nightmare on St. Emmeram (2014/2015 season), for which he had the idea. As a result of Intuition in Togetherness in the television series On the Trail of Intuition , it was documented in 2010 alongside other personalities.

Eisenhauer also lectures in schools and gives workshops and seminars. His brother is the producer and guitarist Rüdiger Eisenhauer. His son David Fink-Eisenhauer is also active as a musician.

Prizes and awards

In 2005, Eisenhauer was awarded a prize by the Goethe Institute for his setting (with Lisa Wahlandt and Bernd Meyer) of the song of the spirits over the waters . In 2008 he received the culture award of the Upper Palatinate district in the percussion category, and in 2012 he was awarded the culture award of the city of Regensburg .
