history

From 1150, service men from Schwarzach appeared as witnesses according to various monastic notes. The Lords of Degenberg had their ancestral castle northeast of Schwarzach, which was burned down in 1468 in the Böckler War . After 1473 Hans von Degenberg built the new Oberschwarzach Castle in Schwarzach. The monastery-like complex enclosed a large rectangular room, today's marketplace. When the Degenbergs died out in 1602, an electoral caretaker resided at the castle until the 19th century . The former electoral brewery, of which there are still structural remains, was built in 1687. It had the monopoly of brewing wheat beer for the entire Bavarian Forest . The parts of the former castle were integrated into the market square.

Today's community Schwarzach came into being with the Bavarian community edict of 1818 and included the places Schwarzach, Allersdorf, Ay, Baumgarten, Bucha, Bühel b.Schwarzach, Bühel b.Weißach, Burghausen, Degenberg, Edersdorf, Etting, Forst, Gaißing, Harpfen, Harpfenmühl , Haslach, Hinterhof, Hof, Hölzl, Irlbruck, Kumpfmühl, Lindforst, Mühlberg, Penzkofen, Prettbach, Reisachanger, Reisachmühl, Rohrmühl, Schönbühl, Stockach, Thal, Velling, Vorderhof and Weißach. From 1946 to 1949, the Schwarzach hospital with an old people's home was built on the initiative of Pastor Michael Graf. It has been a specialist orthopedic clinic with 105 beds since 1950 . On October 7, 1951, Schwarzach received the market title . On January 1, 1971 the municipality of Albertsried with the places Absetz, Aimühl, Albertsried, Amosried, Arnetstein, Damersbach, Dreiwies, Eben, Ed, Edbühel, Gaimersbühel, Grandsberg, Grünbühel, Grünstein, Gumpersberg, Hanselberg, Hinten , Höhenberg, Irlmühl, Kammühl, Niederhofen, Oberhofen, Pitzenfeld, Pitzenloh, Ponholz, Reißen, Riedhof, Riedloh, Staudach, Strahberg, Tiefendorf, Waid (connected with wood), Weißenberg and Wimpassing are incorporated.
