Salching is a municipality in the Lower Bavarian district of Straubing-Bogen and a member of the Aiterhofen administrative community .

Salching is located in the Danube Forest on the Aiterach five kilometers south of Straubing in the middle of the Gäuboden .

history
Until the church is planted
The place was first mentioned in a document around 883/887. In the Middle Ages, the noble family Rainer von Rain, the monastery of Sankt Emmeram in Regensburg and the monastery of Oberalteich had lords in the municipality . Salching belonged to the rent office and regional court Straubing of the Electorate of Bavaria. In the course of the administrative reforms in Bavaria, today's municipality was created with the municipal edict of 1818.
Incorporations
As part of the municipal reform, the municipality of Oberpiebing was almost completely incorporated on May 1, 1978, only the village of Riedling came to the municipality of Oberschneiding .

Blazon: “Split, in front in red, a vertically placed key in silver, behind in silver two blue sloping bars.” The red half of the coat of arms with the silver key comes from the monasteries of St. Emmeram and Oberalteich , the sloping bars in silver and gray from the Lords of Rain , who inherited them from the old Austrian Lords of Graben .

In 1998, according to official statistics, there were eight in the field of agriculture and forestry, 79 in the manufacturing sector and 31 in the trade and transport sector at the place of work.
