Kirchmatting is a district of the municipality of Salching in the Lower Bavarian district of Straubing-Bogen .

location

Kirchmatting is located about two kilometers east of Salching in the transition from the Isar-Inn hill country to the Gäuboden .

history

The area has been settled for a long time, as a find on June 7, 1939 proved. At that time, a wooden barrel with 1169 coins was plowed in a field of the farmer Hochholzer, Roman denarii and sesterces , the most recent minted in 231 AD with the portrait of the then emperor Alexander Severus and his wife.

In the 9th century, St. Emmeram Monastery owned extensive estates in the area. The early mentions of the place can also refer to the directly neighboring Matting , but as early as 901, Kirchmatting, which is different from it, is clearly meant. In the nomenclature of goods of the monastery Metten ownership is in Chirmettingen listed. In the year of conscription in 1752 the place consisted of 13 properties, eleven of which belonged to Hofmark Rain and two to Oberalteich Monastery . Administratively, Kirchmatting was part of the Salching chairmanship.

When the community was formed, Kirchmatting initially joined the Salching community in 1818, but in 1821 it was merged with Oberpiebing , which was also part of the Patrimonial Court of Rain . Until 1848, the Patrimonial Court First Class Rain exercised the judicial and partly also the police administration over Kirchmatting. Since the dissolution of the municipality of Oberpiebing on May 1, 1978 as part of the regional reform in Bavaria , Kirchmatting has been a part of the municipality of Salching.
