The Bindschadler Glacier is a glacier in the East Antarctic Victoria Land . In the northwestern part of the Royal Society Range, it flows between Table Mountain and Platform Spur in a northerly direction to the Emmanuel Glacier .
The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names renamed it in 1992 after the US glaciologist Robert Alan Bindschadler from the Goddard Space Flight Center of NASA , from 1983 senior scientist of the United States Antarctic Research Program to studies of the West Antarctic ice sheet , including the ice streams in the area of Siple Coast , their interaction with the Ross Ice Shelf and the role of the Antarctic ice sheet in global warming .
