The Table Mountain ( English for table mountain ) is a large and over 2000 m high mountain with a flattened summit in the East Antarctic Victoria Land . In the Royal Society Range it rises immediately south of the confluence of the Emmanuel Glacier in the Ferrar Glacier .
It was discovered and descriptively named by participants in the Discovery Expedition (1901-1904) led by the British polar explorer Robert Falcon Scott .
