Matting is a part of the municipality of Salching in the Lower Bavarian district of Straubing-Bogen .

Matting is about a kilometer east of Salching on the edge of the Gäuboden .

history

Early mentions of Matingun , beginning in the 9th century, can also refer to the neighboring Kirchmatting . The Oberalteich monastery in Matting later became wealthy through the Counts of Bogen .

Matting belonged to the Salching Obmannschaft , in the conscription register of 1752 it consisted of eight properties. When the community was formed, it came to the community of Oberpiebing , then to the community of Riedling , when it was dissolved on August 1, 1920 again to the community of Oberpiebing and when it was dissolved on May 1, 1978 as part of the regional reform in Bavaria, it came to the community of Salching.

Attractions

  • Pilgrimage Church of the Birth of Mary. The church, also known as Maria Birnbaum or Heilig Bäumel, is about 400 meters south-east of Matting. It was built in 1716 and renovated in 2004.
