history
The place Riedling was created during the time of the Bavarian conquest. In the property register of the monastery Sankt Emmeram from the year 1031 three hubs in Ruodilinga are also mentioned. At the turn of the 13th century the place was called Rudlinge . In the Duke Surbar of 1228/1241 there were also some ducal estates in Rvdilingen . In the Duke's Surbar from around 1310 the place was called Ruedling . In the description of the property of the Straubing Regional Court from 1599, what was now Riedling belonged to the main team at Niederschneiding .
When the community was formed, Riedling came to the Oberpiebing patrimonial community in 1818 , but then formed an independent rural community in the Straubing district court in 1821 . In 1860 the community of Riedling had 330 inhabitants and 184 buildings in the towns of Aufham, Ausserhienthal, Matting, Niederpiebing and Riedling. The village of Riedling itself had 100 inhabitants, 55 buildings and a church at that time. At that time only Oberpiebing itself and Kirchmatting belonged to the municipality of Oberpiebing . At the 1900 census, the community had an area of a good 1041 hectares , 326 inhabitants and six towns, the hamlet of Pfaffenpoint now also belonged to the community. On August 1, 1920, the municipality of Riedling became part of the municipality of Oberpiebing. When it was dissolved, Riedling came to the municipality of Oberschneiding in the course of the regional reform in Bavaria on May 1, 1978 . In 1987 Riedling had 81 inhabitants.
