Wolferkofen is a district of the Lower Bavarian municipality of Oberschneiding in the Straubing-Bogen district .

The village is about two kilometers from Oberschneiding between the federal road 20 and the SR 72 district road .

history

The first written mention of the community Wolferkofen was in the year 901.

Until 1971 Wolferkofen was an independent municipality with the associated localities Hölldorf , Lohhof , Meindling , Padering , Siebenkofen and Straßenheim (no longer inhabited hamlet ). On January 1, 1972, the Altgemeinde was in the wake of local government reform in the community Oberschneiding incorporated . The population of Wolferkofen was 391 at the time. The then mayor of Wolferkofen, Adalbert Böck, who was elected in 1970 after the death of Karl Seeholzer, remained after the merger of the municipalities of Oberschneiding, Wolferkofen and Niederschneiding, which opened on 1. January 1972 came into force, first mayor of the newly designed municipality Oberschneiding and was in office until April 30, 2002.
