history

The first documentary mention of the town of Niederschneiding was in 1336 in a list of goods from the Regensburg Benedictine Abbey of St. Emmeram .

In the court register of 1599, Niederschneiding is named as the main team , and later Niederschneiding was its own chairman . The Obmannschaft Niederschneiding was subordinate to the Salching sub-office of the Straubing Regional Court, while Niederschneiding was always directly involved in the Regional Court.

Around 1720 the Catholic Church of St. Petrus was built in Niederschneiding , which is now a branch church of the Catholic Parish of Oberschneiding .

After the chairmanship was dissolved, Niederschneiding was part of the Münchshöfen tax district . In 1821 the community of Niederschneiding was formed, to which in addition to Niederschneiding the districts of Fierlbach , Münchshöfen , Niederwalting and Taiding as well as Schierlhof belonged.

On January 1, 1972, the community of Niederschneiding was dissolved as part of the regional reform and incorporated with all districts to Oberschneiding .
