history
Until the church is planted
Kirchroth was a court mark of the cathedral chapter of the Hochstift Regensburg and part of the imperial rule Wörth, which belonged to the Hochstift Regensburg . In 1803 this fell with the bishopric as the Principality of Regensburg to the Imperial Arch Chancellor von Dalberg and came to Bavaria in 1810 . In the course of the administrative reforms in Bavaria, today's municipality was created with the municipal edict of 1818 .
Administrative affiliation
The districts of Kößnach, Pittrich, Bachhof, Neudau, Pichsee, Thalstetten, Aufroth, Neuroth and Neumühl belonged to the district court of Mitterfels .
In 1946 the community was reclassified from the Upper Palatinate district of Regensburg to Lower Bavaria in the district of Straubing.
Kiefelmauth locality
The Kiefelmauth estate once belonged to the central area of Wörth an der Donau and was located about one and a half kilometers upstream of the Danube near Niederachdorf. Its origin goes back to a dispute between the bishops Konrad von Regensburg and Wolfker von Passau. Around 1200, Bishop Konrad set up a salt customs office in order to impose customs duties on all ships sailing up the Danube, and especially those of his fellow brother. After the Bishop of Passau also imposed customs duties on all hides transported down the Danube, an agreement was reached on May 29, 1201 and this dispute ended. The driving freedom was given again. The Regensburg residents, however, set up a customs office a little later, probably at the same location.
The agricultural property was sold to the Flurbereinigungsverband in 1982 as part of the expansion of the Danube and demolished in 1985 with the exception of the former court chapel and the ferry house. They are contemporary witnesses of over 800 years of history.

coat of arms
Historically, the municipality of Kirchroth has been shaped primarily by the bishopric and the cathedral chapter of Regensburg. The Hofmark Kirchroth had a special position within the Hochstiftischen imperial rule, since it was owned by the Regensburg Cathedral Chapter from 1530 to 1810. The districts of Kößnach, Pittrich, Bachhof, Neudau, Pichsee, Thalstetten, Aufroth, Neuroth and Neumühl, however, belonged to the district court of Mitterfels. In order to clarify these historical relationships, the coat of arms of the Hochstift Regensburg (in red a silver sloping bar), as well as the colors of the Duchy of Bavaria (silver-blue) were adopted into the municipal coat of arms . The colors silver-blue or white-blue can also be seen differently than that of the patron saint of our Bavarian region, the dear Mother of God from Bogenberg.
The main character, the red paw cross, is supposed to stand on the one hand as a "talking" symbol for the place name Kirchroth, on the other hand to refer to the two pilgrimages in Kößnach (St. Gangolf) and Niederachdorf (pilgrimage to the "Heiligblut"), the last of which is still regional today Has meaning.
