Kößnach is a church village and part of the municipality of Kirchroth in the Lower Bavarian district of Straubing-Bogen .

location

The village of Kößnach is located on the Kößnach brook of the same name and near an oxbow lake of the Danube , the "Öberau Loop". The state road 2125 west leads to Kößnach by and about 1 km north of Kirchroth. The closest cities are Straubing , Bogen and Wörth an der Donau . Kößnach is connected to the Danube Cycle Path and the European long- distance cycle route EuroVelo 6.

history

Until 1838 the community belonged to the district court Mitterfels and on November 1, 1838 came to the district court Straubing . With the territorial reform in Bavaria, the former municipality of Kößnach lost its independence and was incorporated into the municipality of Kirchroth on May 1, 1978.
