history

Until the church is planted

Around 1100 the Counts von Bogen built Falkenfels Castle here . Falkenfels later belonged to the barons of Buchätt. The place was part of the Electorate of Bavaria and formed a closed Hofmark, whose seat was Falkenfels.

This was followed around 1300 by the Hohenfels knights and the Falkenstein knight family, from 1425 to 1487 by the Frauenberg knights, the Pausdorf brothers until the 30 Years War, from 1650 to 1796 by the imperial lords Freiherrn von Weichs, from 1796 to 1821 Franz von Buchetten, in 1821 the 1918 family von Lang, 1918/19 Albert and Ernst Sättler, 1919 to 1931 Count Paul Frederik Schimmelmann. After 1931 the castle changed hands frequently.

In the course of the administrative reforms in Bavaria, today's municipality was created with the municipal edict of 1818.

Former parts of the community

In 1970 the district of Kragnmühl was spun off to Wiesenfelden . Today's deserted Dexenhof was last listed as part of the municipality in the 1970 census. The former municipality parts of Forst and Oberhof were added to the municipality part of Kirchdorf Falkenfels after the places were structurally connected.
