The Thaneller is 2341  m above sea level. A. high mountain in the eastern Lechtal Alps in Tyrol . Almost free-standing, from its summit it offers a comprehensive panoramic view of the Allgäu Alpine foothills, Reutte and the Ausserfern , the Ammergau Alps with Heiterwanger See and Plansee , the Zugspitze massif , the Lechtal Alps and the Tannheimer Mountains as well as some peaks of the Allgäu Alps behind them .

The summit can be reached in an easy, easy mountain tour over the tame south side from Rinnen or Berwang . The significantly more exposed Werner-Riezler-Steig leads from Heiterwang via Thanellerkar and northwest flank to the summit. The path through the northwest flank is only secured with wire ropes in a few places and therefore requires surefootedness and a head for heights. Easy climbing points of difficulty I and snow fields are not to be underestimated.
