Gregale

Winds in the Mediterranean

The Gregale is a cool, strong northeast wind that blows in the central Mediterranean region, especially in winter, when there is a low south of Malta. It particularly affects the islands from Corsica to Malta. In the eastern Mediterranean, a similar wind is known as Euroklydon .
