Perkam is a municipality in the Lower Bavarian district of Straubing-Bogen and a member of the Rain administrative community .
geography
Perkam is located in the Danube Forest region at the exit of the Kleine Laber valley .

There is only the district Perkam.
history
Until the church is planted
A church was mentioned as early as 863/864 in today's Perkam district of Thalkirchen. Perkam belonged to the Rent Office and the Straubing Regional Court of the Electorate of Bavaria. In 1818 the political municipality was established.
Assignments
On October 1, 1950, parts of the municipality of Perkam were ceded to form the new Dürnhart municipality .

In the period from 1988 to 2019, the community grew from 1,090 to 1,545 by 455 inhabitants or 41.74%.

The first mayor has been Hubert Ammer (non-partisan voter association ÜWG) since May 1, 1996. In the 2020 election he was confirmed with 59.9% of the vote.
The previous mayors of the municipality of Perkam were:
- 1894 – at least 1919: warrior, art mill owner from Pilling
- 1954: Xaver Kapfelsperger
- 1956: Ludwig Ammer
- 1975–1990: Joseph Fuchs
- 1990–1996: Albert Ammer

Economy and Infrastructure
Economy including agriculture and forestry
In 1998, according to official statistics, there were no employees at the place of work in the manufacturing industry 113 or in the trade and transport sector. In other economic sectors 41 people were employed at the place of work subject to social security contributions. There were a total of 442 employees at the place of residence subject to social security contributions. There were two companies each in manufacturing and construction. In 1999 there were 41 farms with an agricultural area of 903 ha, of which 845 ha were arable land and 58 ha were permanent green space.
education
There are the following facilities:
- the kindergarten with day care center St. Martin in Pilling-Siedlung (status: 2005)
- a primary school with 76 students and four full-time teachers (as of 2018/2019)
