Josef Laumer (born February 18, 1887 in Salching , † May 18, 1973 in Straubing ) was a German SPD politician .

Vita

The agricultural worker Laumer was an infantryman in the First World War , then worked in a steam sawmill in Straubing , and later for the municipal utilities . After the Second World War until his retirement in 1952, he was initially an employee, later a civil servant, at the Straubing employment office.

Political career

From 1919 Laumer was a member of the SPD and from 1920 to 1933 its local chairman in Straubing. From 1924 to 1933 he was a member of the Straubing City Council. Due to the National Socialists he lost his offices in 1933 and was interned in the Dachau concentration camp for 19 months , followed by four years in prison for preparation for high treason. Between 1945 and 1958 he was again a member of the Straubing City Council and Deputy Mayor. From 1946 to 1954 and again from 1956 to 1958 he was a member of the state parliament.
