  • 23 August : Great Britain requires the country of origin to be indicated on all imported industrial products in the Merchandising Marks Act passed by parliament . The term “ Made in Germany ” emerges. German products were stamped with this stamp in Britain to represent them as inferior. Reluctantly, the high quality of the goods turns it into a seal of quality and increases sales.
