Bruno Peyn

Bruno Peyn (born June 8, 1887 in Cuxhaven ; † May 31, 1970 in Hamburg ) was a Low German writer .

Life

He wrote his dissertation in 1913 on the subject of Theodor Storm's lyrical work .

Peyn was senior director of studies in Hamburg-Blankenese. During the time of National Socialism he was the head of the Reichsschrifttumskammer in the "Gau Hamburg". In 1934 he received the Stavenhagen Prize of the Lower Saxony Theater Association.

Peyn spent his old age in Kampen on Sylt . Peyn became known through numerous works in the field of Low German drama. His estate is administered in the Hamburg State and University Library .
