Siegfried Scheffler

Siegfried Scheffler (born November 5, 1944 in Schillen , Birnbaum / Wartheland district ) is a German politician ( SPD ).

From 1998 to 2000 he was Parliamentary State Secretary at the Federal Minister for Transport, Building and Housing .

Life and work

After attending primary school , Scheffler began an apprenticeship in road construction in 1958 , which he finished as a road construction worker in 1961 . From 1965 to 1966 he did military service and passed the master craftsman's examination for road construction in 1968 . In 1971 he joined the college as a civil engineer , and in 1978 Diploma - Engineer of Construction (FH).

Siegfried Scheffler is married and has two children. He has lived in Lindau on Lake Constance since the end of 2018.

He has been a member of the SPD since 1989 and has been a member of the party council in the SPD district association Berlin-Köpenick since 1990 .

From May to December 1990 Scheffler was a member of the district assembly of Berlin-Köpenick.

From 1990 to 2005 he was a member of the German Bundestag . From 2002 to 2005 he was a member of the executive committee of the SPD parliamentary group.

Siegfried Scheffler has always entered the Bundestag as a directly elected member of the constituency of Berlin-Köpenick - Lichtenberg II ( 1990 ) or Berlin-Köpenick - Treptow ( 1994 ) or Berlin-Treptow - Köpenick ( 1998 and 2002 ) . In the 2005 Bundestag elections, he lost 33.2% of the first vote to Left Party.PDS candidate Gregor Gysi , who received 40.4% of the votes.

Public offices

From June to December 1990 he was district councilor for construction and housing in the Köpenick district.

On October 27, 1998, Scheffler was appointed Parliamentary State Secretary to the Federal Minister for Transport, Building and Housing in the Federal Government led by Federal Chancellor Gerhard Schröder . After the resignation of Federal Building Minister Reinhard Klektiven , Scheffler left office on November 27, 2000.
