Erich Lasse

Alexander Erich Lasse (born September 4, 1887 in Leipzig , † 1948 in Ambach ) was a German academic painter .

Life

Alexander Erich Lasse was the third son of the factory owner Felix Lasse .

After graduating from high school in 1905, he studied at the Royal Academy for Graphic Arts and Book Industry in Leipzig from 1905 to 1907. Professor Max Klinger was teaching there at that time .

After passing his exams, he studied from 1908 to 1911 in Berlin- Charlottenburg at the Royal Academic University for the Fine Arts. Director and teacher: Anton von Werner .

Parallel to his studies at the Royal Academy, Alexander Erich Lasse attended Professor Lovis Corinth's private painting school . The direction of painting that Corinth brought to him has strongly influenced his work.

To round off his training, he completed a drawing school at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich with Professor Angelo Jank .

He then worked independently and visited Italy and France for study purposes .

After a two-month stay in Paris , he was surprised by the outbreak of war there in 1914. Following his military service in 1921, he married Marie Lüdecke and settled in Ambach on Lake Starnberg . The only child is the daughter Erica Lasse.

Most of his work was done in his adopted home in Upper Bavaria. After a creative but withdrawn life, the artist died in Ambach in 1948. His final resting place is in the Holzhausen cemetery on Lake Starnberg .
