Painting school

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A painting school denotes, in contrast to the state art schools and academies, mostly privately but also municipal art education institutions.

Painting schools give interested laypeople access to painting , also as a pre-qualification for later admission to studies at an art academy . At the same time, they are often an additional means of livelihood security for the artist in that they lead to a regular additional income for the operating artist and bind interested parties to the artist's studio .
