Willy Bardas

Willy Bardas (born February 17, 1887 in Vienna , Austria ; † September 29, 1924 in Naples , Italy ) was an Austrian pianist and music teacher.

Live and act

Bardas studied in Berlin with Artur Schnabel and Max Bruch . He worked as a pianist in Berlin and from 1923 as a piano teacher at the State Music Academy in Tokyo. His most famous student was the composer Moroi Saburō .

"In relation to the physiological methods, Bardas points out the importance of the correct psychological attitude towards the technical difficulty."

In an obituary it says: "Bardas was also a refined essayist and brought German music culture to Japan as a teacher."

On the return journey from Japan to Berlin, he was the victim of a car accident in Naples in September 1924 and suffered a fractured skull.
