Andor Arató
Andor Arató ( Andreas Ackermann ; born December 9, 1887 in Lugos , Kingdom of Hungary , Austria-Hungary ; † March 31, 1964 ) was a Romanian-German church musician and composer.
Life
Arató, born in Lugos, Hungary, became cantor and teacher in Hatzfeld in 1921 . In 1926 he returned to his hometown, where, with one interruption, he worked as cantor until 1959. Here he founded the Jubilate church choir and organized regular church concerts and motet performances; so was z. B. In 1933 Bernard Mettenleiter's passion music, The Last Words of Jesus on the Cross, performed.
In 1933 Arató published the German church hymn book Frohlocket dem Herr! For the Catholic community of Lugoj . which is in use to the present day. As a composer he performed with hymns and church music works such as the student mass , Ave Maria clear , Meditabor , O creator of all glory , In the beautiful flower garden , We of your church members , Christ's mother was in pain , Saint Anna star of hope , Sings united , Ave maris stella , Prostrati ante thronum (1932), A béke királynöjéhez (The Queen of Peace, for soprano, alto and organ), Before the Wedding (1955) and Mária, Mária sírva jövünk hozzád (1955). The choral work Libera me domine was performed annually at All Souls' Day in Lugoj until 1988 .
